The Future of Fitness...What Does it Look Like? How Does it Impact You?

Is this post going to be worth reading?

Crap, I'll give it a read. It doesn't look that long!

Ok, here goes!


In some random a$$ fitness survey a couple of questions were put to random people, like you and me. You know, people that should be outdoors getting some exercise, but instead we're doing online surveys and reading this crap.


Anyway, since we're here, let's see what the survey revealed!


The following questions were put to people:

  • Do you workout?

    • Yes

    • No

  • How often do you workout?

    • Daily

    • Weekly

    • Monthly

    • Other

  • Where do you prefer to workout?

    • Home

    • Gym

    • Outside


The Results:

The majority of our respondents – 58 percent – said they exercise daily, 39 percent said weekly and the rest said “other.”


The majority of respondents – again 58 percent – prefer to work out at home, with 23 percent at the gym and 19 percent outside.

Ok, survey over...so what the fu*k does that all mean?


The 23% number has got to be a worrying number for traditional gym owners as it continues to decline. Almost everyone has some sort of at-home fitness equipment in their homes, ranging from a yoga mat to hand weights. Everyone owns something! And rumor has it, 100% of people are really excited about Back Bay Boxing's new Online Workouts.


So basically, in MY opinion the traditional weights gym with treadmills and bikes is DEAD, or at least bleeding out FAST.


Online Fitness has exploded and continues to grow as Indoor Gym Workouts decline.

What does that mean?

It means we're all going to be super hot, in incredibly good shape but will lack any social skills and will end up being the healthiest corpses in the graveyard.


Fitness, Fitness, Fitness, Fitness...I wonder does this blog post mean that I'm now 'journaling' or 'keeping a diary'?


I think I need a biscuit, or maybe a cup of tea, this journaling carry-on is tough stuff. When did blogging become 'journaling' anyway? Isn't it the same sh$t? It's really just marketing! They just changed the word!


Blogging OUT, Journalling IN! Ok, moving on!


SO TO SUMMARIZE, WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM READING THIS 'DEAR DIARY' ENTRY?

Other than wanting the last 3 minutes of your life back, here's what you need to take away!

  • Online Workouts continue to grow, while Indoor Gym Workouts continues to decline.

  • Outdoor Group Workouts continue to grow, while Indoor Group Workouts continue to decline.

  • Outdoor Social Boxing Workouts continue to grow, while all other types of Workout continue to decline.

  • Outdoor Back Bay Boxing Workouts continue to grow, while all other gyms and workouts continue to decline.

  • Back Bay Boxing continues to grow, while all other gyms close.

  • Back Bay Boxing wins while solving the Fitness Industry Crisis.
